Why would anyone set up a Nevada business entity with people located in some other state?
Note 1: The state ignores "endings" and punctuation when determining if a name choice is unique. Endings such as Inc., Incorporated, Corp., Corporation, Ltd., Limited, LC, LLC, Company, Co., LP, BT, etc. do not make a name unique.
Example: Uniball, Uniball Inc., Uniball Corp., Uniball LLC, Uniball Co., Uniball Ltd., Uniball Corporation, Uniball L.P., Uniball Limited Partnership, U.N.I.B.A.L.L., are all considered the same name.
Include any of the following words to make your chosen name unique: Services, Enterprises, Technologies, Design, Marketing, Media, Products, Industries, Systems, Communications, Commercial, Financial, Holdings, Interests, Trading, Investors, Management, Development, Resources, Diversified, Select, Amalgamated, Unlimited, Group, Associates, Affiliates, Alliance, Partners, Properties, Global, Worldwide, International, Continental, Pacific, Atlantic, North, South, East, West, America, etc.
Note 2: Special permission is required from the applicable state regulatory division if your name contains any of the following: Loan, Finance, (Financial is ok), Trust, Indemnity, Architect, Architecture, Residential designer, Annuity, Insurance, Bank, Thrift, Fidelity, Mortgage, Lending, Lender, Engineer, Engineering, Homeowners Association, Realty (Real Estate Services is ok),. Note 3: If you plan to use a persons name, such as B. Smith, or Bob Smith, you must append it with Incorporated, Inc, Corp, Ltd., LLC, L.P., etc.
1. Now try searching the first word only, then page forward thru the database to see if it is in use. (If the status box indicates AF, CL, or DQ, the name is not available. If it indicates RV, PR, DS, MD, NG, PC, RS, or WD, it will be available.)
2. If you are using letters such as ABC; you should also search a(space)b(space)c(space), then search a.b.c.
3. If the name is already in use, try adding a second or third word from the list above.
4. More often than not, your name choice will be available during the time it normally takes to get filed. To absolutely guarantee a name however, you should reserve it with the state. (If you reserve the name, you must provide a copy of the state's reservation confirmation to CHQ along with your formation application.)
